Shannon Plumb's cinematographic studies of the different roles and characters of everyday life explore the subtle complexities that escape us, on the borderline between the ordinary and the extraordinary. From the humble character of a mother breastfeeding her child to characters emblematic of America today, Plumb depicts these characters with a grunting funny. Inspired by the absurdity of comedy and the offbeat humor of classic silent films that have made us known to actors such as Buster Keaton and Charlie Chaplin, Plumb employs a singular aesthetic as it uses the Super-8 film. Sometimes filmed in black and white, in quality immediately vintage, short videos of the artist are a unique mixture of tenderness, sadness or even despair, humor or funny rather, distance, commitment, love , eros and derision. Between fixed shots and long shots, Plumb puts everything in scene, she is the director, the costumer and the actress with a thousand faces.
Ella wrote, directed and starred in her first feature film "Towheads" (2013) and is currently preparing her second film, The Narcissist.
